Would-be MP ‘impressed’ by University

Former BBC radio presenter and aspiring politician Stephen Rhodes took time out for a fact-finding visit to the University of Bedfordshire this week.
Stephen, who used to present the Breakfast Show on BBC Three Counties, met with the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE, before visiting the Media Arts and Production department and Learning Resources Centre.
He was then shown the innovative Business Pods in the Business School where students can learn in a hi-tech, office-like environment which includes a group work area, boardroom, brainstorming room and chill-out area.
Stephen said: “The University is a big part of Luton and I wanted to pay a visit. I was particularly impressed with the media department and to see students using the sort of hardware and software that is used in industry.
“I was also impressed with the Business Pods. Life after university is so important and learning in this sort of environment is preparing students for life in the working world.”
