Wales’ leading universities will help mark St David’s Day by renewing their joint commitment to drive forward Wales’ knowledge economy.

Doctor Who and Torchwood: Perceptions of Wales
Audience Council Wales and the University of Glamorgan will later this week (Friday 5th March) host a seminar to discuss the outcomes of research on portrayal conducted by the University on behalf of the Audience Council. This research considered the impact of Network television programmes on the perception of Wales and gave particular consideration to the impact of Doctor Who and Torchwood.

2010 Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture and Book Launch
Professor June Hannam of the University of the West of England will give the second Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture at 6.00 pm on International Women’s Day, Monday 8th March 2010, in the Glamorgan Conference Centre at the University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd, under the auspices of the Glamorgan Centre for Gender Studies in Wales.

Glamorgan Researcher Nominated for Media Award
Kick into Reading, a documentary made by Boomerang TV for BBC Wales last year, which focused on the work of Pat Ryan, has been shortlisted for an award at the Celtic Media Festival to be held in Northern Ireland in April.
